This is a 1/35 Schwerer Plattformwagen but wouldn't it be cool if someone made it in 1/32 scale. It could be use to display your favorite tank as being transported or captured.

That is quite awsome, Alex , part of your collection? Hey Andy, are you out there? How about one of these for K&C with a panther on it heading for eastern front.

Fred

This is a piece I recently finished so I will add it to my 1/35 collection.

:) Hi Alex is there a web site for the great rail piece.or some shop in the states ,any advise would be appreciated regards ernie

Its a DML kit that has been out of production but there maybe some shops that still have it. I've seen them on ebay a few times.

I have a very close friend in Southern England who is a model railroader and writes for their Model Railroad Magazine for both UK & the International publications.
He is also a Master Modeler and teacher. There is not RR Hobby Shop or Show that does not know him. If you want me to I'll send him a picture and band name to find you another? Stock number would help, let me know.
Again your work is great

Thanks Chuck but I don't need another one Ernie does. You can help me find one of these in G scale if there is such a thing. I asked the people at the LargeScale forum but not much help.

I have some LGB (Brand Name made in Germany) G scale in a commercial climate control storage place. The next time I'm there I'll check the flat cars.
You mite want to call me for more details.

I saw the locomotive but wasn't aware of the new RR guns. Crazy stuff.

I just looked at this thread and as a former train collector I don't think it's G scale that you want but O scale. G is way too big; that's the scale you see for those outdoor trains. G stands for Garden.

I agree with Brad. Garden railroads also seem to have a lot of 1880's US West and 1900 European stuff and they are big for 1/30 scale. Not too much in the way of WWII, maybe WWI might work from some of the German manufacturers. Some G scale trees and diorama mateials do work. Michael

I just figured G(1/22) scale is closer to K&C than O(1/48) scale. If I find them cheap somewhere than I'll compare them.

Go to Great Models (see earlier ref) , go to Trumpeter, click on their new 1/35th scale locomotive (this sucker will be 35" long and 5" high), click on "accessories," and voila! you'll see a bunch of 1/35th scale German RR cars, including flat cars, armored trains, etc. under the company name "Ironside."

I personally use "G" scale stuff and find it works well - far better, for my taste, than "O" scale, which I find much too small. The G scale flat cars will hold two Shermans comfortably. Bachman used to offer kits of various kinds of rail cars you could assemble yourself that were really good value. Even much of their preassembled rolling stock is reasonably priced, especially in relation to companies like Aristo, LGB, Pola, Lionel, etc. They also used to sell inexpensive plastic track in straight and curved sections. You might check with them to see what's still available.

A German company is taking orders for a 1/35 scale Dora rail gun, I believe it is 5 feet long when finished:eek:

Can you post a link to a web page so that we could view that monster? :) Michael

That thing will be huge. It looks interesting but way too big and expensive for me (so many more Napoleonic figures to get). Michael
