Probably none at the beginning but I suppose it depends on when you consider the Battle of the Bulge to have ended. If the end was Peipper abandoning his tanks and the relief of Bastogne, then no to whitewashed tanks. But later there were some whitewashed AFVs after the relief of Bastogne - especially with new factory painted replacement armour as the US (Paton) pushed the Germans back to their start line and beyond.

Terry is spot on regarding this; the battle started with virtually no snow on the ground, so intially, no whitewashed vehicles, but later on the in action, particually during the push back to the starting point, there may have been some that were whitewashed........

I would wager that some command tanks were whitewashed as soon as the snow began to pile up!:D

The same for the US Army's vehicles. The Ardennes offensive took place over varied terrain. Some areas had some light snow that melted during the day, others were cold and wet, some foggy, etc. The major snow cover came during the battle itself and both sides were too busy to be painting much for the first couple weeks. The US Army didn't start a major snow camouflage effort until the January counter attacks - that's when one sees the white colored US tanks. The Germans seemed to be about the same (unless they were repainting while stuck in the traffic jams early in the battle!)
