A few pics looking at the newly released Panzerjager and the retired Elephant. Interesting how Germany's early entry into Tank Destroyer vehicles evolved into the Monster Elephant. ! Of course not excluding the Jadgtiger as another monster Tank Hunter.

The Elephant is twice the size and the original retail price was $50.00 cheaper than the panzerjager. {sm2}
 
It is amazing of what the idea of a tank hunter/killer was compared to the early and latter stages of the war. Too bad the Elephant was mechanically troublesome. {sm2}

or the german tech too sophisticated,,with a few weight problems

And had poor defensives. Apparently the Ruskie tank killer squads chewed em up big time during the battle of Kursk...

Absolutely. They starting installing turret mounted mg`s to ward off attacking infantry, as the vehicle was slow to maneuver. Great piece to have though in a WWII German armor collection
