I received this question from a collector this week and am unfamiliar with this maker. Can anyone help?

I have "What is it worth question?"
The sets are from England and they were designed by Gerry Ford circa 1989-1990.The original price of the sets was around
$78.00 for the marines and $30.00 for the machine gunners.

One set are WW II Royal Marines,Europe,1944.
The other set are British Paratroopers "Arnhem".

Both sets have their original boxes and the figures are in excellent condition.
Any info you can provide will certainly be appreciated.

I didn't our late President made toy soldiers

BTW, your signature should probably be reversed :D

I never heard of him, but I'll take a look in my references when I get home tonight. He could be listed in O'Brien, or in Garratt.

Prost!

Not sure if I've got any answers, but maybe the following might be of interest.
I recognised the poses on the Marines set, and they matched a set I picked up on ebay from a Czech seller a couple of years ago (I think for around $20)

The figures are Brit Paras, with different headwear, but three of the four figures are essentially the same. They are fairly poorly painted in (mainly) matt, and are in a similar box, foam appears to be the same in cut outs etc.

They aren't as well finished as the Marines, but the box label states 'Elite Forces', no other box markings, and nothing on the base of the figures.

I like the look of them in gloss. May have to repaint these in gloss.

I found the seller, he still has a few of the Elite Force sets for sale. According to his sales pitch, the sculpts / molds were owned by Gerry Ford Designs originally, but sold to Ventura Castings, who continued to produce the figures. Masters were apparently sculpted by Mike Broadbent.

That's better than I could find. No reference in Garratt or in any of O'Brien's books.

I don't think they fetch anyhere near what they originally sold for.

probably $30 - $40 per set if a few people are really interested in them. maybe less.

It's tough out there, especially on more obscure newer sets like these.

Ah do you have the Gerry Ford figure set of him falling down the stairs while

exiting the airplane?:eek::D:)

Sorry, I couldn't resist........actually the Arnhem figures are pretty neat!
