So yesterday I ordered 1 Stalingrad figure - GERSTAL004 - and should have it on Tuesday. I've been looking at the series photos since the announcement, but kind of wanted to take a close look and hold one before committing.

Has anyone else ordered just 1 figure to check out?

Donnie,

I got that particular figure at the June London show (with a few other) and must admit it is very good. The one thing you will notice is that they seem small (certainly if you already own some K&C figures) but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are the best painted figures on the market today (unless you pay mega-bucks). I hope you like your purchase as much as I do.

I did that with their Napoleonic figures. Since then, I added some to my collection.

Unfortunately, I have a small budget for military miniatures. I still don't know if I'll get the StuG. It is very tempting but I don't want to go on the credit card.

I don't think I will either, the main issue will be its price. I can't see it being less than £300. I can get the £200 K&C KT or the Figarti tanks, but this one will be outside my price range, certainly for 1 vehicle.

I haven't had the opportunity to see any First Legion products in person yet, so I can't make an educated determination as to how good they truly are. That being said, if they are as good in person as they look in photos, I will be buying the Stug, even at $300-$350. That will be a couple of months of my present Toy Soldier Budget, but I would rather have one great vehicle than three average ones.

Agree with you but for me, it would mean to pass on several AZW figures. If the StuG is still available for Christmas, then I may get it from Santa :):):)

It may be at 250GBP ;););)

I was going to start with a batch of 5 of my favorites (German and Russian)...but as time went by I added the Sturmpioniere set (4) to my pre-order and finally another 5 for a total of 14.

I guess you could say I went all in. I've curtailed spending in other areas of my TS budget to fund these. The concept of a focused series supplying everything you need to create a really nice dynamic battle scene with lots of attention to historical accuracy has really grown on me.

I'm not concerned with the size issue provided they remain consistent relative to each other. I am more interested in the sculpting and painting quality which looks very good in the pictures of these figures.

Provided I am happy with the figures I have ordered I will be purchasing the Stug.III and the add on riders when they are available. Those riders in particular really remind me of pictures I have seen of this activity and their posing is top tier.

I agree about the sculpting, painting quality and accuracy, the size is a non-issue for me as well. The focused concept is a big deal for me also.

Not sure really why I ordered just one figure. I know from the photos, which never do great figures justice, that these are some outstanding figures.

It's going to be fun getting started with Stalingrad.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Well I paid $299 for the Figarti Tiger so $300 for the FL Stug could work. But where will you get to see it in person? Unless I get to Chicago, there is nowhere in Toronto to see it, especially as FL sells direct only.
