I got a Britains Club membership and Ebay gift certificate for Christmas! I see more soldiers in my future...

Got a contribution to my Britain's Zulu War Fund.......The Lt.

I got the limited edition Coldstream Guards color party. It looks fantastic.

I got a completely toy soldierless christmas! But I bought just about everyone else some kind of Soldier or figure. So at least I had the fun of buying the figures.:p

Well

I have some figures on their way in a late box from the Crimean Sereis Saving Cpt Webb and I also gave myself 4 very nice Lancers from a Prewar set that will be shown to all in the near future. I also ordered the New Mutiny Elephant Gunny Battery! So I am looking forward to the mail over the next few days.

All in all it was a very merry Christmas

All the best

Dave

Dave,
Sounds like someone got some cool goodies. How is the Mrs Colonel and kidlets?
Make sure you follow the directions for setting up the elephant. The chain goes in the very front of the seat braces. Otherwise it will look funny.

There was a pleasant surprise this Christmas for me. I did get a set of Toy Soldiers but what was special about it, I actually had to open a wrapped box without having a clue what would be in there. So there was no cash for the hobby, no gift-card or such. My kids actually bought a set. That was so cool.

Here is what I've got.
The set is by Britains from their Crimean War section of the "Victoria Cross" series. It is set no. 43072 "Scots Fusilier Guards Defending the Colours".

"On the 20th of September 1854, during the Battle of Alma, Captain Robert James Lindsay, Sergeant James Mckechnie and Private William Reynolds, while under heavy fire, rallied the men around the colours after the formation of the line had been disordered. Each received a Victoria Cross."

Happy Collecting!

Konrad
