When is John Jenkins going to properly get stuck in to World War 2 with some sets of troops in action poses ? There is a lot of fiddling around the edges, albeit with some fine sets - but these are non action and too static , get stuck in I say - nothing to be afraid of- I would love to see some German and Allied fighting sets at long last ! Apply the same high standards of action poses to WW2 as to wars of the Roses, Snow Shoes, Leuthen and everything else - I can't wait for the move ...

Reading between the lines, are you saying that all the other manufacturers that release WW2 this and WW2 that, just don't do it for you?

I personally regard John as an innovator but certainly not a follower. I think this is why JJ is so highly regarded and indeed supported, he steers away from the mundane and conventional.

I think my wallet would not like this idea. But seriously, I don’t know how he could with being a one man show and all of the the current ranges his does. But it would be cool. Maybe after ww1 ranges ends?

At the MFCA he told me that sculpting WWII uniforms is not his favorite thing. So I would not hold my breath.

John has said to me that he feels WW2 is adequately covered, for the most part, by all the other manufacturers. As said earlier, he likes to go down the path unused. He might well do some things that have not been overdone, things he feels are under represented, like the US Navy aviation he is doing (both interwar and WW2). That said, his foray into German armor surprised me, so never say never, but I wouldn't expect much in the way of mainstream WW2. -- Al

Fair points, I really like John's sculpting style and would very much like to see it translated into WW2 action sets too, I am sure it would sell well.

He's mentioned that to me, also, albeit in email exchanges. Likewise, I don't think that he enjoys controversy. To the extent that WW2 subjects can become the focus of some pretty "over the top" forum exchanges, I can't blame him for shying away from them.:) Hah, now just wait. Come August, there'll be word that he's doing an SS Panzer Division, THE WHOLE THING!:eek:;)

That's ok, as long as he gets the total number of buttons correct...:rolleyes2: -- Al

John has a lot on his plate right now and some really great ideas for future releases.
I think there will be more WWII vehicles but doubt there will be much in the way of infantry.

Many more Aztecs and Conquistadores in the works......Republican Romans along with more Gauls, Celts and Germanics....
Possibly the Punic Wars and other Ancient topics.
Still more Wars of the Roses figures coming....artillery, casualties, mounted Knights and perhaps more participants.
The American Revolution including the Battle of Saratoga and Drums Along the Mohawk expanding and maybe other battles.
I also think we will see more scenics.

Personally I would like to see some WWI German artillery, vehicles and a few action figures e.g. German machine gun team, tank hunters and trench raiders.
There are plenty of WWII figures and vehicles in the market today so while JJD style is different I don't think the demand would be that great. A few iconic tanks
might be all that he will consider. But who knows!
