It due to arrive here Friday. I just had to get it before the Price Changes at Beau Geste. I will post some pictures ( I 'll have to figure it out ) for everyone as soon as I can. My toy soldier budget is broke for the rest of the year:(

Shannon told me it was the 14th one Ana has made.

Is it your first Delhi Durbar item?

Can't wait to see your pics.

Pierre.

I just took a look at the picture on the Treefrog site. http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/detail.aspx?ID=937 WHAT A SET. It looks fantastic. It sure is beautiful and expensive too. You have made me very green with envy. I hope you find great joy in displaying it and showing it to friends and visitors. I hope that it arrives without any problems.

Hello Pierre. I have numerous sets, trying to finish a a few Britains Durbar Sets I need too. I have 6 or 8 other Delhi Durbar Sets from BG, a few from Marlborough too.
I just am a sucker to the glossy traditional soldiers, especially Delhi Durbar stuff.

You know Michael , Shannon warned my already. She told me a funny ( really not soo funny ) story of a Alwar's Carriage that was shipped to the UK. Apparently Customs , decided those elephants looked like they might contains drugs or some sort of contra band. They actually drilled holes in each elephant!!! They then threw everything back in the boxes and sent it on it's way. Needless to say the customer was crushed. They got it fixed , he just had to wait another 6 months for BG to make another one. I am crossing my fingers....
Greg

OH My God! If customs ever did that to my BG set I would have a heart attack especially with the amount of time and money that goes into the production of one of these sets!

Please let us know when it arrives and of course provide pictures because like sceic2 said many of us a green with envy!

All the best

Dave

Hi Showman,

I actually have two things to say:

1.) First of all, congratulations on including in your collection one of the most incredible Delhi Durbar sets ever created. It is a real beauty and it is especially gratifying to know that you own one of only 14 existing examples. It is extremely special in so many ways. The casting is fantastic, the painting is exquisite, and the detailing is stunning. It is a truly remarkable set. Good fortune has smiled upon you. Enjoy it to the fullest!

2.) The second thing I want to say is that I am soooooo jealous I can hardly stand it!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

Talk about a limited edition! Now, that's what I call a true limited edition. Congrats. I can't wait to see pictures of this and all your other Durbars. If you have trouble posting, just send me the photos and I'll do it for you.

That is a very impressive set.
What is the weight I wonder? The elephants I belive are solid if their single ones are anything to go by.

Jeff
