I agree! All the music for that film did a great job at capturing the emotions of what was taking place.

Agreed. I play the soundtrack while I paint, cast, or set up diorama's. I love " HELL ON THE WABASH" .
The music does capture the emotion, sadness , as well as immense pride.
Soundtracks for Master and commander and Return of the King are both very good MOOD music to work and play by.

Far memorable than the sound track for "Gods in General." I still have the Gettysburg themes in my head from 20 years ago. Great theme music when the 20th Maine attacks and the "Drums and Guns" theme for the deployment of the 1st Corps.
 
Yes its very good, but as good as say 'Zulu' ' The Great Escape' ' Battle of Britain' etc???

Zulu is a great one. A couple more from my youth: John Wayne's Alamo has a fantastic soundtrack and so does How the West Was Won. Also really like the music from Red River, with John Wayne. A theme, perhaps? -- Al
 
Gettysburg is also one of my favorite soundtracks too. It does capture the emotions and mood of the scenes very well. I am not a big fan of the Gods and Generals movie but love the opening song accompanied by the waving unit flags.

It's a nice soundtrack but as good as Lawrence of Arabia or Bridge on the River Kwai. Don't think so.

CONAN THE BARBARIAN was on cable last Night. Had not seen that in years. There is some very good MOOD music in there as well. Got me on the web hunting down Frank Frazetta's masterful Fantasy art.
Frazetta , my inspiration for pen and ink when I was a kid.
Now I need to hunt down some Hyborean Age figures.
 
Yep! The 1st Conan movie's music was fun plus I finally heard the music from Kirk Douglas' The Vikings on a good DVD rather than a film copy on tinny old black and white TV speakers.
 
And of course we can't forget about A Bridge too Far! Awesome movie and soundtrack!

Sorry Harold yea its a tough piece of music.

Love the theme from Conan....Hyborean age Figures that would be something,Andrea Miniatures have a few versions of Conan.
Not cheap but nice,maybe some barbs and those bad guys from the lord of the rings might work.
