Hi
UK collectors might want to check the Hannants website as they show some upcoming/future releases in 1/32 by Glencoe and others - check their future releases in 1/32nd scale and select Figures(injection).

The Glencoe US and Japanese are good sets and easy to paint - not seen the Pirates set before though?

Regards
Dave

I hope that Glencoe puts more effort into quality control! Years ago I bought a Glencoe recast set of Marx Marines and they were full of casting errors/flaws.

Considering their other products of which I am familiar I would imagine they are recasts of the 54mm Marx Pirates. Nice figures.

I bought sets of "Glencoe" Marines and Japanese some 20 or so years ago and found them to be great recasts of the Marx figures in nice flexible plastic; the molds were still in pretty good shape so there was a minimum of flash or distortion.

A few years ago I bought a couple more boxes of each. The Marines were still pretty good but the Japanese I received were a bit more brittle plastic and there were some broken bayonets and such; nothing major so most are still usable. It was more trouble to return so I kept them figuring I could use them somehow.

Dave,
You should know that these were available over here for years, not that they were any good then. I stocked them and couldn't give them away. At that time, they were poor quality re-issues of the Marx WWII figures with more 'sink' or 'blow' holes in the plastic than a colander!

They appeared again, here, a few years back and no-one touched them.

At best, they are 50mm - possibly 52mm - but no more.

It's a shame as they were great figures, just poorly produced.

These look like midgets next to Conte/TSSD/Austin WWII figures.

I don't see any future for them in the U.K.

At one time CTS had recast of the MARX Marines and Japanese in a nice soft plastic. I have some of the Japanese and they are very nice. I don't know if they still make them like that.
