That's it.

They're going to the show for the fourth time in my lifetime.

First two were very hard for a young lad to take.
The third time was a charm indeed and made the first two all better.

Now, this one is just for fun.

Go Sox!

Bring on the Rockies!

Be careful what you wish for.;)

It would be nice to have a real series, so I reiterate, bring them on. Like I said above, now that I have seen them win once, the pressure is off.

That year, the actual series was a let down compared with the ALCS. This year, I am hoping for a good series. I will be rooting for the Sox per my lifelong prejudice, but I will also be pleased if the Rockies win.

Two good teams are better than one.

These late nights are killing me, I went through the 67,75,86, and nightmare Bucky Dent horrors. The 2004 come back on the Yankees, will always be the best. St. Louis never had a chance. But Colo., will be a battle, they are on their own roll. I say Sox in Six, but they need stronger starting pitching from DiceK, and Schilling. I don't know how little kids can watch these series, they start them way to late. It is a shame if they can't, these games should be played at 5:00 or 6:00 time slots. I do feel bad for Cleveland and their fans, they played a great series. But the Red Sox bats woke up, they out scored the tribe 30 to 5 in the last three games. Go Sox, Mike:)

I'll be rooting for the Sox even though I'm a National League fan. Sox fans and Mets fans have something in common -- I'm sure I don't need to mention what that is -- so I rooted for them in 04, plus I like the players on this team. They're fun to watch. Pedroia looks like he could be your normal ordinary guy so I'll say Sox in 6.

You guys have got it all wrong. Take it from someone who grew up in Colorado and has watched the Rockies play terrible baseball for many years. This is like a fans 100 year event(even though they became a team in the early 90's). Hopefully Colorado can close the deal and with their young team continue many years of Rocktober baseball.

Totally agree on the late game annoyance and, also, the fact that 2004 has left me feeling far more calm and appreciative of the game itself, not just who wins.

As for the Rockies and their "hundred year event", let them suffer for a few more decades. It is a very good way to build character.:p

I, too, lived in Colorado when the Rockies first started. I even got a hat. However, you gotta dance with the one you brung and baseball was introduced to me by a neighborly Sox fan (yes, I have cursed the burden he placed on me many, many times.)

For Xmas a few years back, my sister gave me a T-shirt that reads "Bucky F'N Dent - 1978". I wear it often.

That was the year that I ran, eluding the grasp of my father, onto the field at Yankee Stadium during that famous bench-clearing brawl. I wanted more than anything to find, and kick, Bucky. Alas, all I did was witness the beatdown that they gave Bill "spaceman" Lee and I never saw Bucky. Luckily, my Dad only grounded me for that one.

Go Sox!

As a Brewers fan, I know all about suffering! It's been 25 years since we even made the playoffs.

Now that we no longer have Bud as an owner things are looking up...if our pitching had held up we could have fought off those pesky Cubs. We wouldn't have gone far in the playoffs, but at least we'd have been there!

A few years back I rooted for the Sox out of sympathy.

Go Rockies!!! (Sorry, but I can't abide by the Red Sox)

Ya know what Tex? I was rootin fer the Injuns:mad: But after hearing how nice the Boston fans were to the Indian fans I kinda hope they win..... But

GO ROCKIES!!!

BTW the gf had the game picked for the winner:(

Hate these close games . . . but tomorrow probably will not be affected and will be much more of a contest. But I'm still counting for the Sox to give us hurting SoCal fans a boost.

Man, that was some game... alas, it looks like the typical AL vs NL matchup, but I suspect the games will get better.

I am not one to let the past dictate the future, but it does make me a little bit unsettled that the last two teams who piled up that big a win in the first game in the series went on to lose the series.

I am mindful of that first ALCS game between the Sox and the hated Yanks. I think they beat the Sox by 14 runs or something and that was the last game they won.

Here's hoping that the Rockies put up a better fight than last night, but no so good a fight that they actually beat the Sox.

:D

They should force the guys in Guantanamo to watch a replay of that game. 11 PM and they were in the 5th inning - are they still playing?;)

That was a LONG 5th inning. The Sox batted through their entire order, the Rockies used three pitchers (one of whom walked in three runs) and it took over half an hour for them to get three outs.

What's MLB gonna do, call the game after they were ahead by ten?

:)

So, are the terrorist suspects also Rockies fans or is it just the tedium of a long game that would add to the torture... (did I say "torture"... I meant to say "persuasive negotiations"... my bad)

At least the game was not a blow out. But it was not that interesting either.
I went and worked on my figures.

How could you say it was not interesting. It was well pitched and the Sox had their opportunities but Rockies pitching turned them aside. Holliday gets the goat horns for straying off first base. What was he thinking with the cleanup hitter at the plate? A major error. Who knows what could have happened?

The Red Sox bats are red hot right now, even JD Drew is hitting. There are no easy outs in that line up. The back end of our bullpen is lights out.

Should be interesting to see who sits with no DH in the NL ballpark (THE stupidest rule in all of sports; if the AL uses a DH and the NL does not, why should we play by their rules in their park and vice versa. Just stupid).

I wonder if you would be saying that if you were a Rockies fan? :D

At least the second game was a close and interesting game to watch. I think(hope) Colorado can do better at home. Will be interesting to see how well the Boston lineup does with their bats with no DH. My guess is that Ortiz will sit bench and thats a huge part of Bostons lineup with no AB's. Saturdays game will for sure be a must win for the Rockies - will be good to see them get the W.
