Can anyone reommend any toy soldier, model , hobby or die cast military type stores , markets or otherwise in Hong Kong or Beijing ?

I am of course I aware that Andy plus John Jenkins are in HK.

Isn't Frontline there as well? Also, Fair Tech International, the current maker of Guard Corps' figures, has an office in Hong Kong. Here's a URL to their website:

http://www.fairtechhk.com/index.htm

I don't know if they accept visits, but it's worth contacting them. I've emailed with David Chen, I believe his name was, very nice gentleman, very helpful.

Prost!

"East of India" is located in Hongkong and so is "Patriot".

King & Country's main retail store and offices are located in Hong Kong. The retail store is in the upscale "Pacific Place Mall". The address of the office is on the website.

Thanks to each of you . Anyone else?

Looking for more RETAIL type locations.

Well, I wonder if you might not find so many retailers, but rather, if you're looking to purchase, you might need to visit the manufacturers at their plants/offices. Perhaps some of the guys who have been to Hong Kong (or who are headquartered there) can clarify further for us.

Prosit!

Hello Brad - thanks for your post. Actually I have arranged with Andy to break bread together with my Wife while we are in HK. He was most gracious and quite accomodating. I am very much looking forward to it.

I just returned from a trip to Hong Kong. Besides K&C and John Jenkins, I am aware of three other toy soldier manufacturers located in Hong Kong:

East of India
Ken Clarke-Jervoise
25th Floor, Unit A
Gee Chang Hong Centre
65 Wong Chuk Hang Road
Aberdeen, Hong Kong
ken@eastofindia.com

Frontline Figures
Gerard Prime
14th Floor, Unit C
Derrick Industrial Building
49-51 Wong Chuk Hang Road
Aberdeen, Hong Kong
2838-0263

Patriot Models
Robert Cheung
Shop 1F-5, Prudential Centre
216-228A Nathan Road
Kowloon, Hong Kong
2234-0222

East of India and Frontline are within three buildings of each other in Aberdeen (location of Jumbo Floating Restaurant) but require a taxi since there is no underground there. There are office locations and not retail locations though both Gerard and Ken will sell you anything they have in stock. Robert Cheung of Patriot mainly sells the small metal airliners at his store but has some Patriot and other metal castings.

The best regular model & hobby store is Universal Models, with the largest selections at the following locations:

G/F-2/F, 579 Nathan Road, Mongkok, Kowloon (1/35 models and military books are on 2nd floor) 2771-1930

G/F-3/F, 5 Pennington Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong (good stuff on 3rd floor) 2577-5950

:)

Steven - You rock ! Thanks , that is what exactly what I was looking for. You might recall you hitched a ride in our rental car with my son and I to the KNC dinner either last year or the year before , so it'll be nice to visit with you again in Chicago.

Can I drop in on EAST OF INDIA or FRONTLINE?

How about John Jenkins, does he accept visitors?

How is the UML store , I went online and the one in KOWLOON looks to be the largest? What do you think?

Thank you again.

You should first contact Frontline and East of India before dropping in as they are sometimes not available. Both also attend the Chicago show so may not be in Asia the last two weeks of September.

I met John Jenkins at the Frontline offices several years ago when he was producing figures with them. You should contact John directly to see if he accepts visitors.

While the Kowloon store is larger, only one floor of each location is devoted to military models, and I have found that the Hong Kong location is better organized and easier to move around.:)

Thanks again , I am leaving Sunday. I will let everyone know when I return how things went. I will see you Stephen in Chicago...
Thank you again
