I know that not everyone can do so, what with schedules, finances and whatnot but there is no experience like it. Yes, it is true you can see what you want on line but even the best photos don't do models justice. Moreover, there is no beating the personal aspect, the camarederie, whether it's a one day show like London or a several day show like Chicago.

You also never know what you're going to find and even if you only collect one thing, like WW II or a particular company, it's good to see what other people collect and what the hobby has to offer.

Couldn't agree more Brad, nothing like being there. The two main points you have covered in your post, things look good in pics but however good the camera they never do them justice, I've seen this time and again in London over the years. Secondly the comradeship of a show is one of the best things in this hobby, getting together with friends over a few drinks and talking TS is so enjoyable that even if I was not buying any TS I'd still go to the show.

Glad you had a ball mate

Really Jeff. Just because after one show Rob fell asleep on the tube and ended up in the wrong part of London is something that could happen to anyone. It's not like he got onto the wrong train, went through the Chunnel and ended up in Paris. {eek3}{sm4}

Oooooh, I like your thinking. Rob, I hear Paris is lovely in December. You ought to pack your passport just in case.
