Hi Guys,

Well it’s finally here... The very special, 40 page edition of K&C’s ‘COLLECTOR’ dedicated to my brother Gordon and his King & Country Workshop dioramas.

This particular edition of ‘COLLECTOR’ is by far the biggest we have ever produced and I hope is a worthy tribute to Gordon’s ingenuity and craftsmanship.

Look for it here... and also when you get your next order from a K&C Authorised Dealer or from ourselves in Hong Kong.

All the best and... Enjoy!

A Wonderful tribute to a true icon in our hobby. He was always open and eager to share insights and tips when ever I interacted with him at the Chicago show, and a gentleman to boot. We will all miss him and his wonderful, innovative creations

Andy, a very nice tribute to your younger brother. I just finished reading through it and admiring all the excellent dioramas Gordon had done over the years. Thanks for sharing this with everyone. You will always have the fond memories to look back on.

I received a copy of this outstanding document, Gordon's work is outstanding. This morning i made myself a brew and decided to have some time looking at each and deciding which was my favourite? Well after changing my mind about 5 times i decided on my original choice of 'The Emperor on Campaign', a base which i have also seen used for WW2 US Paras, it is simple in layout but way more complex than you first think. With 2 levels, a damaged section and the junction/intersection. It is a great piece which allows the perfect setting for a range of figures and eras.

There was another I once saw on Treefrog Forum, I do not if it Gordon's or not, it was a Battle of the Bulge diorama, quite large rectangle and had the Bergepanther on it and a Sherman, with lots of other vehicles as well. Does anyone remember it?

There is a thread on this K&C subforum, I think started by Brad (Jazzeum), dedicated to Gordon's work, There's a pretty good chance the Battle of the Bulge diorama you are describing would be depicted there.

I looked through the thread and could not find one quite like that although there were a few BOB dioramas. When I added photos to the thread I added photos that Andy had posted. It’s possible he may have not posted the dio you recall. It’s also possible it may be in one of the Collector magazines.

Here is a link to the thread in case anyone wants to look at some of his amazing work.

Got my copy!!!Wonderful tribute to a wonderful man!!My favorite Collector to date!!

I read through the special yesterday when I had a moment. I enjoyed reading about Gordon and Andy’s early childhood and enjoyed seeing some of the amazing dios he built. Although I saw in Chicago some of the dios he built over the years it’s nice to see and have some good photos of them.

Andy, Gordon and I were all born around the same time and polio, until the vaccine was invented, was always a big concern for parents from that generation.

Thanks again Andy.
