Saw Gravity today.
A 2 actor movie (George Clooney and Sandra Bullock).
The whole movie takes place in space and how they filmed the zero gravity aspect is very impressive. There have been plenty of space movies such as Star Trek and Aliens etc with great special effects. What makes this different is the close up nature of the filming. For example when they are falling or scrambling to catch/board the shuttle etc. Meanwhile the backdrop is Earth below. Not sure what category it comes under but must be a contender for Photography/Cinematography Oscar.
Bullock must be a contender for an Oscar for this one.
I did not see it in 3D but looks like one where could be worth the extra $'s.
Which brings us to the subject of Space type movies. Not really my genre as prefer my action on earth. I am more into the "lighter" type movies such as Space Cowboys and Gallaxy Quest rather than flesh eating Alien type movies.
