Hi,

Has anyone seen the new Conte Spartans and how do they compare with the East of India range? I have just started collecting the EofI Greeks and Persians so just wondering if it was worth looking at the Conte offering before going all out on EofI.

Andy , I saw the Conte figures in Chicago. They are on steroids compared to the East of India pieces. I did like some of the poses though. I think the EofI line has better sculpting and painting plus you have the Persians to battle against.I think they will continue to expand this range. I would stick with the EofI stuff if I had the choice of the two.

Dear Andy,

The attached photo shows a Conte Spartan figure on the left and an early Ken Olsen sculpted Conte figure on the right. I agree with Sage742, the Conte Spartans all have bulging muscles like superheroes.

I received a four page advertisement from Conte today with pics of the Spartan sets. Looks quite good if this era is of interest. With "300" coming out soon it might also be well timed.

I just got a few sets of the new Conte Spartans, and really like them. They are coming out with more sets and the Persians.
