I know many of you gasped at the idea that someone would mention little green emn on a toy soldier site!, but you guys need to check out the green and tan wars that people have made with their own cameras and computer sound effects on youtube. They are hilarious!

Why not plastic army men? I bet a lot of guys here played with them as kids, and if you think about it, they, along with the more upscale plastic figures by Marx and some of the others are the forerunners of today's plastic collector's figures.

I've seen some builds online, too, where someone takes his old, Made-in-Hong-Kong, 99-cents-a-bag army men and paints them up.

The YouTube videos are pretty cool, too, btw, a creative treatment.

Green army men has given me more pleasure in my life than my present toy soldier collection. Endless hours under the mango tree, sometimes my whole yard was used as a battlefield with a thousand army men with tanks and trucks. Threw firecrackers at them on new year. Shot them with a pellet gun, playing sniper as I got older. Those were the days and the reason I collect toy soldiers today.

Man you guys nailed it. I am 34 years old and I wish someone would have a green tan battle with firecrackers with me again. I have started painting some up in different uniforms and I love it. I always keep a stash of them in my collection.

That one was really good. My favorite is one that lasts about 10 minutes and has a naval, air and attack on the tan home base with firecrackers as well. That really takes a lot of set up and work. But, for less than 20 bucks, you can have a great battle with all of that.
