Here in Massachusetts, we have two of these a year, March and November, I have been meaning to get to one for a while now for three reasons; I collect 20mm figures and ho/oo model railroading buildings and scenery are in my wheelhouse, to see if there were any toy sodlier related items I could buy and also to gauge whether this sort of show would be worth attending for me, in addition to the toy soldiers, I have a **** ton of 1/6th scale figures and vehicles loose and MIB, so I wanted to see if there were vendors selling those sort of items at the show.

I got there around 10:00am, show started at 10:00am, it was absolutely mobbed, parking was a nightmare, I parked along the access road like others were doing, I assumed the parking lots were full and they were, the line waiting to pay was a mile long, a FAR, FAR cry from your average toy soldier show.

Just incredible, so apparently this train hobby has legs................

Once I got inside; yikes. Table after table of rolling stock, boxed and loose, mostly O gauge, some ho/oo guage as well, some tables with buildings, but they were kits, no thanks. Saw some assembled buildings, but nothing tripped my trigger. Along the back wall were the toy dealers, mountains of Star Wars, Leggo's, matchbox cars, assorted games from the 1970's, just piles of stuff.

I did not see a single 1/6th scale figure or vehicle anywhere, saw a Britains dealer there and Matt from HB too, Matt has mostly toys and model trains, very few toy soldiers.

The average age was about 107, just a **** ton of old timers wandering around, saw very few people with bags, the aisles were mobbed, tough to navigate around.

I saw hardly anything in the way of scenery, sort of disappointing, I thought for sure people would be selling piles of Woodland Scenics and Scenic Express type items, but hardly anything, what a bummer.

I didn't spend .05 cents, left after about an hour and a half, not my bag, not my scene, no point in me getting tables for a show like this one.

Not sure if that hobby is booming or not, it looked like there were a **** ton of "vendors" trying to dump rolling stock, mostly used and old, boxes all beat up.

I think that hobby is suffering the same ills of the toy soldier hobby, people looking to dump bits or entire collections...............................interesting to see how another hobby functions, but again, not my cup of tea..............thoughts??
