Here's my Tradition figure of the great man. A simple hefty casting with minor pitting probably from a well-used mould.

I think that the pose is too static and uninteresting so will change the head and legs.

Hi Mirof,

You raise an interesting point.

Gustav lived from 1594 to 1632. That means he was killed at age 40. Pretty young.
The key portraits seem to suggest an older man, certainly not slim and even rather portly. He appears to have aged considerably with the weight of responsibility and constant warfare.

The casting is of a portly figure. There is a similar portrait of him in a red Polish looking caftan(?). I don't propose to file it down to a slimmer figure. I might shave down the chubby cheeks a little. That's all.

Here's the new pose. The legs and head are attached firmly with pins.

I've decided to convert this figure to wear a buff coat under a red caftan. A sword will be added.

The left hip was drilled out and a large amount of waste metal was removed. The fur trim was removed. A buff coat and the caftan was sculpted. A sword was added.

Hello Bradley,

Thanks for looking. It is a simple figure conversion to spice up this piece. I've finished adding the braiding and have started to lay on the basic colour.

Getting back to this figure. The oils have dried out and I am just making minor corrections.

He is looking great Victor. Back in the day I converted a 28mm mounted Gustavus into a foot miniature.
