Hi There!
Here is another one of the 11" X 28" shelf dioramas that we will have for sale at Chicago this year. The Shenandoah Valley was a hotly contested area during the American Civil War and there were major campaigns there in 1862 and again in 64.
We have incorporated some of the classic elements that you see in period photographs...and still seen today. The post and rail fence, often the fuel and building materials for the encamped armies, the country lane and crops all set the scene for your favorite ACW figures and accessories.
The first image is an overall view and the second is a view down the lane with one of the Yankees I sculpted while working for Conte Collectibles.

Stunning Ken, In a way I am glad that I cannot make it to Chicago as after seeing these beauties I wouldn't have a clue which one to pic  :):D

Here is a close up of the other end of the shelf unit showing the trees, and the wild roses growing over the stump at the end of the field. All of the grass used in the field and along the road is our 'wild grass' that you can place your figures and equipment on without damaging it.
The second image is one of the many scenics that we will be selling. These can be used on our 11' X 11" grassy bases, or alone to decorate your existing grass mats. The first picture shows how it looks on the grassy base and the second one shows you the hasty-works from above. This is a perfect little base to display your favorite ACW, AWI and Napoleonic skirmishers. I suppose it would work equally well for WWII!

...When it absolutely, positively has to look real!

Here is another one of the small scenics we will have for sale in room #5215 from Thursday to Saturday.
This is one of several stockade wall sections we made up. The first view is on one of our 11" X 11" grassy squares ($35.00 ea). The second is of the scenic wall free standing without the base.
Some years ago I had to do a fair amount of research into Eighteenth century stockade construction for a large Museum model I was commissioned to do. One of the descriptions of the condition of the walls at Detroit was that the gaps between many of the posts were wide enough to easily shoot through at the defenders and that the posts were looped for muskets every few feet.
These sections will simulate this and make a nice backdrop for any of the F&I or AWI figures on the market today.

We posted this image on another thread but it is worthwhile to point out that it would work equally as well with F&I, AWI, ACW or Napoleonic soldiers marching or skirmishing. For scale reference we used K&C Waffen SS Grenadiers.

Ken,

Simply masterful!

Hmmm, Shenandoah.....
Can a mounted figure of Little Phil be far behind?

Thanks Carlos...looking forward to seeing you.
Here are a couple more of the small scenics that we will be selling at Chicago this year. The first one shows one of the 11" X 11" wild grass bases. These are designed to be used alone or with two or three butted together on your shelf. The stand alone small scenics can be used on these flat bases to create your own custom scene to fit your requirements.
The second image is of a rotted stump with a wild rose bush growing around it and it can be used on one of the square wild grass bases or alone.
