During World War II Princess Elizabeth of Great Britain was a member of the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS), a women's branch of the British Army. Princess Elizabeth was trained as a vehicle mechanic with the necessary skills to repair the engines of vehicles such as the Austin K2/Y Ambulance behind her. Lizzie served with pride for King & Country, providing inspiration for young women throughout the Empire. (figure: Britains 43052 retired)

I saw her in person in Ottawa in 1977 during her Silver Jubilee. My wife and I happened by pure chance to be standing at the main entance to Parliament when she and Phillip arrived by limo. I purchased the set shown below at the time. Randy
