I had a lot of fun with this vignette as the idea was built on this Dorset/Imperial Miniatures.

Add one suit able car - 1/32nd Highway Pioneers 1903 Ford Model A - and we make a start.
My plan was to use a Yeomanry figure but first I had to research the probable use of the car.
The agents for Ford at the time were based in Southampton a port city in Hampshire the County of choice was made for me.

The Ford came with a driver which was modified, turned head and dust added.
I had no suitable female passenger so I scratch built her using two part epoxy putty with arms and bare head from spares. Hat and scarf were added with putty.

The military figures

Corporal Hampshire Carabiniers Yeomanry in walking out dress.
This was an Asset casting of a Dragoon/Dragoon Guards WO Dress with minor conversion. Removal of belt, legs moved apart and head turned.

Lance Corporal 3rd Vol Btn Hampshire Infantry.
I used a resin WWII MK35 French as the basis for this figure.
As he came with shirt sleeves jacket with belt and extended sleeves all made with two part epoxy putty.
I decided to give him a Home Service Pattern Helmet from Irregular Miniatures.

And painted using Army Painter acrylics

And we ended up with this first version of the vignette

I was happy with my effort until I found two more elements that added to the vignette.
Amazing what a person finds when they are looking for something else.

This version two.
Includes boy with ball playing fetch with his dog.

Hi Rod.

Roy Dilley’s books were inspirational for me. His figure conversions, vehicles and settings always had so much play value and fun in them. John Firth used to post here as well. Superb painter.

Victor I have just finished reading through your portly QOOY kettledrummer posting.
A lovely figure and most informative postings. I guess that must be the essence of being part of this site.
And well done for your work being published. A most deserved reward for your dedication to you hobby and your workmanship.
So thank you for the link.
Regards
Rod
