Happy Birthday to an American icon, born on September 5, 1847. Love him, hate him, he left his mark. -- Al

I had an uncle named Jesse. Not the same one, though. Great uncle, actually, my dad's uncle.

Prost!

Anyone remember the Brady Bunch episode where the kid idolizes JJ but then has some type of dream in which he discovers James was actually a cold blooded killer? Pretty heavy stuff for that show. More like the Twilight Zone. I'm not a huge Brad Pitt fan but he was outstanding in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford." Great movie.

My favorite version of JJ was 'The Long Riders'. Thought it an outstanding movie from the inspired casting, edgy action, and the superb soundtrack. -- Al

Yes! Bobby meets an old man, who tells him how his family were killed by the James gang. The old man was played by veteran character actor Burt Mustin.

Prost!

Ah yes, Burt Mustin. Jack Webb made great use of him, as did Andy Griffith. He was all 50's to 70's era TV. -- Al

Ozzy Osbourne Shares Blood With This Infamous Outlaw

If you’re curious where Ozzy Osbourne’s rock star swagger comes from, it might be this distant family member. Osbourne is related to none other than the Pinkerton-hating outlaw himself, Jesse James.

After scientists drew a sample of blood from the singer, they discovered that he’s related to James, the last Tsar of Russia, a Neanderthal man, and people who died in the Pompeii explosion back in 79 AD. Osbourne wasn’t surprised and had no idea, just like he had no idea who Justin Bieber was.
