Letters and correspondence for BoM and the French Indian War. An index of the letters is near the front of the volume. Great for BoM, some info on Fort William Henry, but Ticonderoga is really not covered in detail. Zoomable and good clarity, so easy to read.

British Army statistics before and after the Battle of Monongahela. Pre-battle returns are around page 85. In the pre-battle returns, I thought it was interesting to note that Braddock wanted to have 10 more sergeants per regiment beyond the standard number of 30 sergeants per regiment (Wanted Column).

Post battle returns are on page 97 and 114. Letters from Dunbar included.

Guys,

I am reluctant to post this and it proves I am a tad anal , and there is a chance I am yet again wrong .......but I think this may actually be historically accurate and the figures are in the "correct" uniforms. The QB-05 is in the correct uniform, and the QB-02b is "artistically" correct ------- the green sleeves are the correct color ------ it is my understanding that this Quebec JJD figure is suppose to represent an officer in the 45th (uniform as per the painting), so I am willing to allow any minor inaccuracies to slide (pants) -----

So lets everyone move both Captain Stone (killed at Battle of Monongahela, QB-05 set, Lascelles 47th) and Captain Hayer (wounded at the Battle of Monongahela, QB-02B - the officer with the musket, 45th regiment, Whartons Regiment) to your Battle of Monongahela shelf.

See the link at the start of the thread.....

Next week, I am sure to find proof that Bernard Montgomery was at the Battle of Monongahela.

He went there to have tea with his old friends Cromwell and Wellington.:D:salute::%^V

After some questions, seems I need to explain my logic further:

The QB-02b Set Description ---- "This extra set that is inspired by the Edward Penny painting "The Death Of Wolfe" depicts two British officers from the Louisbourg Grenadiers, which are based on the two figures in the background of the painting.

According to several sources the officer running, bringing news of victory, is Lieutenant Henry Browne."

The Louisbourg Grenadiers consisted of the grenadier companies from the 22nd, 40th and 45th Regiments. Of these companies, only the 45th had green facings. At Quebec, the only British regiment that had green facings was the 45th ---- so the logical conclusion is the QB-02b figure with the musket must be of an officer of the 45th regiment (Warburton's Regiment).

The QB-02b figure with the musket is a great pose and sculpture. I would rank it as John's best British Officer in any of the FIW releases. It should look wonderful with the new BoM sets.

The Morris Journal lists two Volunteer British Officers as being at the Battle of Monongahela ---- a Captain Stone of the Lascelles (47th) and a Captain Hayer of of the 45th (Warburton's Regiment). Captain Stone was killed and Captain Hayer wounded.

At the very bottom of the officer list as a note under "Volunteers" you will see Captain Stone and Captain Hayer listed:
