A sincere late thank you to all of the VETS especially Chuck Harris since I know him for all of their sacrifices (family included) in allowing me/all of us the freedom and subsequent life in our beloved country!

I'm with you squadron leader.

Happy Veterans Day to all the Vets here and abroad. Those with us, and those who are in spirit. Thank you all, Mike:)

To echo the others, a sincere thank you to all the veterans. Happy Veterans' Day.

I was at a very moving ceromony in my village in Durham. After all these years the local parish council have only just managed to raise enough money (as the local Scum in the village have not put money in towards it) for the granite to list all the names of the villagers who lost their lives in WWI and WWII. in WWI there are 43 men listed and at the time that was 95% of the familys in the village that lost a male member of the their family.

The Stone is next to my wifes salon so she has agreed to keep it tidy and i will be checking it over when i can.

Nice one Tony, good on you mate.

I was lucky enough to be on duty at the IWM this rememberance Sunday and got to listen to the veterans as they gave a talk to the public. And it just reinforced my view that i am very very lucky to live in the freedom i do.Myself and my wife can live happily and do what we want when we want, because of these brave men who gave so much for our futures. When you see a man in his eighties break down and cry talking about his mate blown to atoms beside him as he fought for our freedom, well it puts worries about the bills and the weather firmly into perspective.God bless them all.

I like what the RBL did this year with remembering all those who have SURVIED as well. including the modern guys out in in th emiddle east.

There is many an old man who were young men who can still hear, see and smell the horrors they went though all thoughs years ago.

Those small monuments (like the one mentioned at Durham) are always interesting to me, as they put things in a scale I can more readily understand, and in an actual place.

The larger ones are also good, in expressing the enormity of the sacrifices.

The one that had the most affect on me was the cemetary at Verdun.
