This particular figure is wonderful, i'm very interested in that period of the U.S. Army after watchin' 2 of Milius movies :Rough Riders and The Wind & the Lion (this one of my favourites).I'm resistin' the desire of purchasing it and so startin Bluecoats range,but it's really difficult.

The 1898 US Infantry figure is now retired. So if you like this period I would grab one or more ASAP

I like more the blue American uniform than the uniform of my Spanish compatriots, but I think that it was more practical to support the heat of Cuba. Did buffalo soldiers of cavalry take part?
 
Yes Buffalo soldiers did take part but for the most part were dismounted.
