A fellow collector PM'ed today asking me my opinion of the size difference between the latest HN Medic and Radio Teams compared to KC’s scale. It was a very good questions and I thought I might share my answer to him and more importantly pictures.

“I love the new HB figures but you probably already knew that. That may be an interesting fact since I won practically every WWII item KC has produced in the last 5 years or so.

Finally, if you're a KC purist they are not exactly the same size in height and width. I'll post pictures of the HB Radio Team today comparing them. The Medic Team are equal in size to the HB Radio Team. I just didn't take any comparison pictures because frankly I'm a bit busy today. I hope that's okay with you.

I'm bias, I like mixing my scales up in the same diorama to achieve a theme because people are different sizes in real life and therefore they all blind in nicely.

You'll see the size difference is mostly in the width of the body and especially the size of the head on the KC side. KC has earned market place dominance and has therefore become the "de-facto" standard in which all others are compared IMO.

BOTTOM LINE: I'll continue to buy both KC and HB new releases and enjoy them.”

Cheers for the comparison Carlos.
As is the norm, the HB figures are a bit slimmer than the K&C, but there's nothing in those photos that shows any huge difference, especially when the WS58 set is one of K&C's taller offerings.

I started this post about the HB sets a while back when I got them.
The pictures Carlos posted I,m afraid don,t adequetly show the size difference.
Don,t get me wrong the HB poses are excellent but they DO NOT fit with K&C and don,t even fit with most of HB,s previous releases.
In my opinion they work if you have them displayed with, as in my case, the wounded with the field kitchen and the walking radio team with the HB set of Germans standing & sitting on a tank.
The other radio team, kneeling seems to be the smallest, although pose wise the best.
They are at best 1-32.
Even Ana from HB promised that all future sets would be of the larger nature.
Flat out here is my take, as good, pose wise, as these sets are, if the future HB sets were this size, no matter how good, I would not buy them.

I think a more accurate comparison is if you compare the older HB sets, say the HB31/25/26 with the new releases, HB33 or HB34.

you will see that not only the sculpting is different, but most importantly the size proportion.

whilst i like the direction of their sculpts and realistic paint job, i do hope HB will consistently stick to 1/30.

saying that the last 2 figure sets were excellent, so i'm playing safe and preordering the winter versions.

The figures look nice but the faces are ok but they can't beat king & country. Not for right now at the momment.
