The rumors are real: The long, long, long-awaited Deadwood movie is really, truly in development at HBO.

No less a source than the network’s programming president Michael Lombardo said “it’s going to happen,” TV Line reported at the Television Critics Association’s press tour party in Pasadena on Thursday. Creator David Milch has apparently pitched a story for the profanity filled and critically acclaimed cult-favorite Western’s reunion.

Last August, HBO confirmed early talks of a Deadwood movie, so this has been in the works for awhile. Actor Garret Dillahunt, who played Francis Wolcott on the show, first leaked the news on Twitter.

I liked the online comment where somebody suggested a 10 hour movie cut into 10 parts^&grin

Got the 3 seasons for a Christmas present, watched 26 episodes, 10 to go, still not sure whether I like it. Language is not for the faint hearte, nor the violence. Understand there is no ending to the series, so I guess the movie maybe the answer. Thanks for the heads up. Robin.
 
I think too much time has passed for a movie to be a success.I stopped watching it because of the way they talked.I couldn't stand it and I don't mean the cussin"
