What ever became of the "hanks ,,Spielburg,,HBO series to rival Band of brothers and the Pacific",,It would honor the AAF etc,,filming was underway ,,locations etc and it would be completed by "15,16,17,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,",, Now there is nothing from HBO but fluff,, wastes,,Not a word anywhere

A few weeks ago, I read an article on another forum that members of the miniseries production staff visited an English town to begin work on the miniseries.
I've been doing a movie/tv news thread on other forums for about 10-11 years Monday-Friday, so I read a lot of entertainment news, and I haven't seen any official news about the miniseries since it was announced several years ago.
Since this is a Hanks/Spielberg/HBO production, if it had been cancelled, I would think it would have prominently mentioned, but it hasn't.
On the other hand, years ago, Bruce McKenna who wrote for BAND OF BROTHERS and THE PACIFIC, took an unused chapter he wrote for THE PACIFIC about the Battle of Midway and sold it to Warner Bros. who announced it was going to be a fastracked, big budget, 3D war epic----and it was never heard from again.

I just read in the last couple of weeks, don't remember the source, that it will not air until 2019.
