I know this was discussed in small part before, but listening to the radio last night being interviewed was that Col. Dye, he is the ex military officer who has run the boot camps for actors and is an advisor in Hollywood for military films. He was Col. Sink in Band of Brothers.
Well he stated that Hanks and Spielberg are doing a Pacific version of a BOB type show for HBO. He would not say the release date tho.
So this is definetly something to look forward to.

I can hardly wait! If it is only half as good as Band of Brothers, it will be awesome. BTW, wasn't he Captain Dye in the USMC?

Dale Dye has been the military advisor for (almost) every recent war movie worth seeing. He was also the CO in Platoon. I sorta see him as the officer of Military-Civilian relations and R. Lee Ermey as the NCO haha. I can't wait to see what the word is on this as it develops, I can only hope it will be as great as BOB.

This project was announced in 2003 and I've heard nothing since. Is this definitely still being produced?

I hope so..................I was so taken by Band of Brothers (The 101st was always my favorite) that when I found out that Wild Bill lived near me. I was able to contact him, and we have become friends since. I correspond with him by phone and letters. He has also put me in touch with other Easy Members...Alex
