This season started out a little slow, but the last few episodes have been great. My recollection of the historical events is sufficiently vague to avoid caring how much is accurate. I understand this will be the final season which is too bad.

There was an article in today's New York Times saying that they had cancelled future shows because of "high production values," meaning it became too expensive to make.

With the end of Sex and the City, Six Feet Under and Carnivale coupled with the upcoming disappearance of The Sopranos, Deadwood and now Rome, is there a good serie that HBO still carries? I mean a serie that worths his price.

What about The Wire? Is it a good one?

Pierre.

NO, IMO it's just a typical inner city totally predicable outcome cop show.

I am so angry about the way that the executives at HBO handled the ending of the Deadwood series. Deadwood is the best television show in the history of TV. AL IS GOD. It's just unbelieveable that they would take such an action as not letting the viewing public know, until six months after announcing a series of movies to wrap up the story line, that the end has already been broadcast and use your imagination to end the series cause we are'nt gona do it. Lot's of anger on the Deadwood forum on the HBO site. I am really disappointed in the way Carnivale ended too. And that god auful Entourage. What a waste of everything that series is.

At least with Rome they let we the viewers know well in advance that it was two seasons and no more. Although I would have loved to see the story line carry on and fill the gap between Caeser Augustus and Claudis.

By golly the Sopranos better end with more sense than their current record of horrible series ending is.

For HBO to put such wonderful programs on the air is the best thing to happen to TV. For HBO to end such wonderful programs on the air is the worst thing to happen to TV. "It was the best of times. It was the worst of times." sort of affair.

Michael-

I agree with you about Deadwood. It was the best serie and I am knocking out by the infos you're just giving in your post. No films... no sense!

Anyway, thanks to for your reply and opinions about The Wire.

Pierre.

Hi Guys,

I sort of enjoy the Wire, I know its probably been done before but I still enjoy it. As for the other series HBO really did mess that up. I wish they would have made some more of Rome because that is quite entertaining but I suspect the sets and everything else cost a fortune. Maybe we'll get lucky and have a film come out of it.

Lets hope they bring something along that will be as good as some of these others real soon.

All the best

Dave

Not a bad series finale and there are a few new books to see how things came out.
