Could be, if it you mean the reaction by Gaius Julius Casear to Pompey's refusal to meet with him in the HBO Rome Series?;):D
I rather like this one as well:
"There you are wrong, The graveyards are full of middling swordsmen. Best not to be a swordsman at all than a middling swordsman."

Why that most certainly is correct. One of my all time favorite series up there with Sopranos, The Wire, and Generation Kill, which I love as well.

Of course, the line you pulled out is Octavian talking with Titus Pullo. I think the young Octavian is among my favorite characters in the series.

"I believe thrones are generally more decorative. That is decidely plain...and chair-like."

Really enjoyed Rome, very good tv.However myself and my wife have been watching 'The Wire',episode by episode, series by series. And it really is superb, wonderful drama, great performances (especially by the guy who plays 'Omar')quite possibly along with Band of Brothers my favourite US Drama series ever.

The only problem is that we are onto season4,and theres only one more after this:(

Rob, I agree - The Wire is FANTASTIC and Omar is my favorite character as well. Such a great series, but you're right, too short.

But have you seen Generation Kill?

No havn't seen that yet, good Matt????

Omar is so good.Thing is he has such character that you forget he is a ruthless killer and almost have sympathy for the guy!.In last nights ep he robbed Marlo during a card game....it can't end well!!

There are lots of unpleasant people in this series, but one who i really want to see shot (can i say that on a family forum:D)is Marlo's female killer, can't think of her name, but hate that girl!!:D;)(She's so obnoxious she's obviously a very good actress)

Yeah- both that miniseries and the book of course are just pathetic and do no one caught up in the GWOT any service whatsoever. But hey, whatever helps push the agenda forward I guess................

Well, I don't want to give anything away so I can't comment on some of that. Suffice it to say, the reason we all like Omar is that he has principles (for a gangster!). He only messes with people who are "in the game."

As for Generation Kill - simply amazing. Only 7 episodes in total, but just oh so fantastic. I've read the book three times now and the series is an extremely good adaptation. It's one of the few instances where I've read a book that was made into a movie/tv show and after reading it still very much enjoy the tv version. Normally, reading the book is the death knell for enjoying the tv/movie version. Not so in this case, it's really THAT good. I've probably watched the series 6 times now or so....

I'm envious that you haven't seen it yet...you have such a good thing in store for yourself.

C'mon man....I disagree entirely. Both are very entertaining. I've also read "Fiasco" and the follow up book about Petraeus, but I suppose those are pathetic as well..................................

Ummmm.........sure, I guess. I'll take your word for it.:confused:

I agree that the miniseries was a true to form adaptation of the book. My problem with it, and it really is probably more reflective of a decision made by HBO than anything else is that it seemed to play to all the negative stereotypes about OIF in general. Our men and women are doing a tremendous job over there (And I believe that you feel the same, that isn't what I am getting at) but that this film is the one that makes it to the final cut just puzzled me to no end. HBO has done a wonderful job with a lot of documentaries re OIF so I kind of chalked this one up to perhaps them trying to balance the view- I dunno.

I just strongly caution a lot of people draw hasty conclusions from this thing as, after all, the "reporter" was Hustler's former porn movie editor- go figure.

In my opinion, this is OIF's, Apocalypse Now.
