Oldboy,

Please let us know how you go with this seller.

I would like to buy a number of his items, but with a feedback of nothing, with no sells or buys.

The red flags go up.

So please let us know when you get your items.

Thanks.

Did I mention the low low start at a mere $4.99 ? Unbid as yet....hmmmm....might come in handy someday (night),and the Hunter does look sorta like a Hollywood IRA man...very efficient too, right on target with the stake, before the caped one is quite awake...;)o.

Let the red flags be lowered :D:D:D Received today Romany Entertainers & Lunch in the Park -Glistening as if new! bright unscathed boxes & original foam packing bits (included, though not mentioned in listing),absolutely charming sets,a steal frankly.I'd have responded sooner, but the transaction was held awhile awaiting Paypal from this stodgy rascal-3 days after Paypal, package arrived.xgottalovecollectingx is an exemplary Seller, gracious(in my case longsuffering)-so excellent indeed, that I've wondered if they mightn't be English  ;) New listings today;Dept.56 Christmas, bit of Trophy,Errol John(Great Xmas Homecoming 1945 sets),John Eden,Marlborough(Indian Bazaar) ,Totentanz-don't know if this is a Maker,an event,or what -perhaps theBaron... & more Lemax Hallowe'en.Oh ,yes, they've 35 Feedback just now -100% & Glowing.Cheers,ob

This seller might be the same person who was selling Little Metal Men's Oktoberfest figures back in March or April, but under a new seller id. I say that primarily because the pictures he's got posted look like they've been taken on the same tabletop and in front of the same background, as those pictures were. I had no problems with him in the dozen or so auctions I won from him, prompt shipment, everything well-packaged.

As to the Totentanz, that translates as "Dance of the Dead" (a la Saint-Saen's "Danse macabre"), but I'm not sure who might have made the set. The figure with the lute reminds me of figures by a German maker, Krauthauser, who makes 54mm kits. He has several figures of monks in his catalog, and the lute player looks like a monk. I don't remember if Krauthauser makes the dancing skeletons, but I don't think so. I'll check his site and post back.

I'm going to be driving down to visit my parents this afternoon, and I pass by a Michael's on the way. I'll stop in and see if the other figures might be from something like Dept. 56 or similar.

Prost!

Well, a search of Krauthauser's own site, www.krauthauser.de, turns up none of the monk figures, so he may have dropped them from his catalog. However, at Berliner Zinnfiguren (www.zinnfigur.com), their listing of Krauthauser figures still includes one of the monks, "Franziskus", which depicts a monk pouring wine or beer from a jug in his left hand into a cup held in the right. I have this kit myself, and the lute player in the one auction is either an original Krauthauser figure (which I believe, based on my memory of the last time I visited his site), or it is the "Franziskus" figure kit-bashed into a lute player, by modifying the arms that came with the kit. The basic body is identical. I don't think the lute player came with the skeletons, originally.

Here's a catalog picture of Franziskus:

Stopped at Michael's yesterday afternoon, and while I didn't find those exact figures, I saw similar ones, sold under the brand "Spooky Town". I'm reasonably sure that the skeleton figures are made by some similar manufacturer.

Prost!

"Baron"? Who is this "Baron"? My name is Guy Incognito.

 My apologies,Guy,and thanks for your sleuthing expertise. To the best of my knowledge "Baron" or "The Nobleman Formerly Known as Baron" due to his changing his name to an arcane symbol with no known verbal correlative,is a Pop Star, best known for his mid80s smash hit album & film "Purple Rhine",which so far has proved the high watermark of his celebrity.Subsequent albums have gathered acclaim from a devoted-if fanatical fan base, but haven't gained much national notice, aside from the late 90s' "Rumspringa Rave".I hope this is helpful.Very Best Regards,Sir Digby

LOL

It was a "Simpsons" reference, I was curious to see if anyone caught it.

Prost!
