I have been contacted by a fellow Aussie collector who wanted to know anything about a maker, CP Soldiers, as he has just bought a set on EBay .

As you can see they are marching WW2 Germans.

Any ideas ???

Obee . . . I can't say for sure, but the style reminds me of the figures made by Command Post. I think the maker was Ed Poole, or something like that.

If these are by Ed Poole, they might be mentioned in "Collecting Toy Soldiers." The chapter on homecasting talks about Dr. Poole. I'll have to take a look when I get home this evening.

Prost!

Al & Brad,

thanks for you help, I'm on holidays now, currently in Berlin, so far away from home on OZ where my reference books are. I'll pass on any info to the collector who asked, just to help him out.

Sorry, guys. He has produced figures from old homecast molds as "Five and Dime Corps", and also "Out 'n' Out Repros", but no mention of "Command Post". At least not in O'Brien's books

Prost!

Hi Guys,

Seems to be an illusive company, I did find an auction from several years ago at a British Auction House called Andrew Young for two rather large sets of British Army figures in the same red boxes and called CP Soldiers. From the photos it was obviously the same style of painting and figures. But there was no information on the company.

Is there any other information on the box like an address? My guess would be a small British Firm from between 1980 to 1995. But that is only a guess.
