We received this question...can anyone help with the answer? Is there enough to go on to identify the set?

Hello,

I am seeking information on a coach with the Queen and a male figure pulled by 8 white horses. Four of these horses are mounted by soldiers. At the time of purchase the piece was in rough condition. I have had it repaired by Old Toy Foundary. My question concerns the correct coloring of the coach. I have seen photos of the coach in white and in gold. If anyone has information as to the coloration of the coach, please contact me at my email address. If anyone had a photo of this piece I would appreciate you forwarding it to me. I have no idea of the value of this piece. When obtained the only missing parts were the braces which hold the horses one to another. These were replaced by OTF. It 2 years for this firm to reconstruct. The repairman assures me the colors used are authentic, however, it somehow does not seem correct to me. Should it be white or the gold that it is? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

To me it sounds like the Britains Gold State coach. As the name implies the coach would be gold, there are a couple of variations, One was all gold, one was all gold with door panels being painted blue.

Britains released a new version of the coach this century (which was basically an updated version of the afore mentioned) again all gold but with stickers on the door panels representing the pictures that were painted on the real Gold State coach.

I can't say I have ever seen this set in white.

Under the Britain's Glossy thread I showed pictures and a explanation of the state coach. Look at state coach thread. Leadmen
