Help Identifying Napoleonic Toy Soldier Set (52 Metal Figures) (1 Viewer)

Hi all — I’m trying to identify a set of 52 painted 54mm Napoleonic metal figures I received as a gift in the 1990s. I’ve worked with ChatGPT to catalog them, and ChatGPT says they might be from Stadden, Greenwood & Ball, or a similar UK maker.

The set includes:

• 18 Highlanders: 9 kneeling/firing, 7 with bayonets, 1 bagpiper, and a wounded two-man vignette
• 10 cavalry figures: 6 with lowered sabers, 4 with raised sabers
• 6 cannons: 4 complete, 1 with a broken wheel, 1 missing its base
• 9 artillery/infantry in dark uniforms (possibly British)
• 9 artillery/infantry in green uniforms (possibly Russian)

All figures are hand-painted in a consistent glossy style, and bases are mostly square or rounded and painted green. I don’t see any maker’s marks, but one base may have had a paper label at some point.

Would appreciate any help — photos attached! I have more if that is helpful.

Don't trust the machine. They're not Stadden or Greenwood & Ball, not 54mm, anyway.

Are you sure that they're 54mm, or are they smaller? In the photos, they look more like 1/72 scale figures. The bases also look like the bases I've seen on the smaller figures. Maybe take a picture with a figure next to a ruler to make it absolutely clear.

Now, Stadden did produce a 30mm line of wargaming figures, and these look similar. Maybe that's why HAL said they might be Stadden. I don't know offhand if Greenwood & Ball made wargame figures. But if they are in the smaller scale, Hinchliffe is another possibility. I'd have to dig out my Hinchliffe catalog to see.

Thanks so much for your help, Brad! Fortunately, I'm not hoping/needing them to be anything. I'm just curious after having had them for so long to learn more.

You're totally right - they are not 54mm. See attached for a photo. I think you're right that they're 1/72 scale. Nice!

I'm happy to do the leg work here to try and identify them. Though I don't quite know where to start. Any leads you might be able to provide?

I agree with Brad as far as a smaller scale is concerned. Sorry, but I can not recognize who actually made them but could it not be that these where made by Tradition of Scandinavia (Sweden)?
