Hi,

I've been asked to repair a figures for a fellow collectore here in Perth from set HB4 the Seaforth Highander running with 2 rifles.

The rifles are not attched, they have 2 holes in them and I'd assume that wire is used as the rifle sling so it goes though the soldiers hand.

Can someone confirm this, and if possible post an image, and show me the colour of the wire.

The figure featured in the recent COLLECTORS #29 seen here, but I can see the wire.

thanks in advance,

Yes, some do come with wire (I have avoided these). Unfortunately, I don't know the color. I would guess brown or black.

The persons who would know definitively are Louis and Larry.

Thanks Brad for your reply,

yes I hope one of the other 'learned gentlemen' you listed maybe able to enlighten me, :)

John

John,

Take a look at this auction from Hans, a good friend of Louis' and Larry's, and also a "learned gentleman" when it comes to K & C. You can see the wire in the photo.

That's a shot of the original wire, which usually came in the box with the set. I will send Brad a photo of the completed set with the rifles attached, so he can post it for you.

I sent Brad three close up photos of the fully assembled figure to post for you on this thread.:smile2:

John,

You are correct. The wire did run through the hand and the two holes in the rifle. As for the wire, they were copper in color - at least the ones I have. Given the skills I have seen in your work, this is an easy fix. Lastly, the figures are not damaged as the wire was supplied loose with the set, and not attached to the soldier or the rifle. Hope this helps. All the best, Lawrence
