Howdy folks!

looking to see if there is some sort of modeling puddy i could use to repair chips in figures then prime and paint over the chip so there is no visible area where the chip ever was, as id like to get smooth transition of new paint applied without of course having to build up the paint that much in the area the was .

any help appreciated!

Are the chips actual gouges in the metal, eg, the figure was knocked over and hit something, leaving a chip? Or are they just paint chips, ie, the paint has chipped off but no metal was removed?

If there is no metal lost, there's no need for putty. Just use primer, or a surfacer, like Mr. Surfacer. It's a lacquer-based surfacing agent. It will fill in the area, and also acts as a primer.

If there is metal lost, so it's a proper gouge, then use a two-part epoxy, like Miliput, or Aves ("ay-veez") Apoxie Sculpt, or similar product. Heck, you can use 2-part plumber's putty, that's what people used, back in the day, till products were made especially for hobbyists. It won't take very much, though, just a small amount. Then prime and paint.

Prost!
