Hi,

I'm looking to expand my Civil War cavalry. Currently I have the Italeri and Imex Confederates, which work very well together, up against the TSSD blue figs. Today I saw a small pic of DSG/Britains figs, which apparently are unpainted Herald reproductions. These were on the Michigan site. Anyway I'm wondering how compatable these would be with the makes I've mentioned above. A link to bigger pics would help too.

Thanks

I have the TSSD cavalry and had the Britains/Herald/Argentina figures back when they were just Britains. You'll be disappointed if you try to mix them. The "Britains" are fun and look great but TSSD are more detailed and a bit larger.

Thanks for that Scott, it's more the Imex and Italeri figures they need to fit with, these are the more standard size. I have a couple of Napoleonic figures which I think are Britains (they're on Britains horses at least) and the sculpting of those is fine. So if I get the chance I'll buy them and try them out.

They actually don't need to 'fight' the TSSD guys. I had them set up fighting the various Napoleonic cavalry, Italeri, Timpo and others (the Battle of Waterburg). The TSSD guys were in a different sector charging the Airfix French, Timpo Highlanders and the Call to Arms Guards and infantry.

OH........Then I think you WILL like the Britains. I have the Imex and Italeri cavalry. The Britains you linked to are more 1870s 7th Cav and "off" for that as they have sabers. They are painted as Confederates and look pretty good as is. I know you are nterested in the un-painted figures.

"Someone" did/does make "Britains" Civil War cavalry with kepis that are 1st rate.

Sounds like a fun.

Thanks Scott - that's the endorsement I needed. I can always swap figures to other horses, that can help the look that they're they're alltogether.

I don't know how to post photos to the net - but when I do I'll post a few shots of the scenario. I had a mini version in a purpose built cupboard before I got married and moved last year. Now they live in a box. Sigh....
