Here are the RN figures painted to the new style. These figures suit the Zulu and Sudan campaign.

These are for the Sudan as they have Alexandra on their headgear.

Interested to see what people think of this new finish.

They look superb, I think I will have to have a day out at Scarborough so I can call in and see them for real

I prefer the old paint scheme......I have quite a few of the Sudan campaign both British Army and Royal Navy as well as Indian and the paint work them is much better than this new style. When I order again from you do I need to specify old or new paint scheme???

Hi,
I like the finish. It is hard to tell from the pictures, but maybe a bit more highlighting on the uniforms?

Pete

Or maybe a wash?
Just a thought.

Pete

They do have a wash and highlights. I kept them subtle which really can only be seen in the flesh. The Royal Navy blue is very dark and absorbs light. I think with more highlight the colour starts to look to light, like French Blue.

Thanks for the input.

Hi Bruce,
Just my thoughts, as you did ask for opinions. I was thinking more about the white uniforms. As you say, it is better to see them in the flesh. All in all, I do like the new paint finish.

Pete

This may help with the old paint scheme. Robin.

If you compare the pics posted by Robin and I - the old paint scheme - versus the proposed new painting style you will see that the old seems more real and not too toy like.....
Cheers

I would love a side-to-side photo. So far I like the new pant scheme on the uniforms and hair, but the faces have too much outline and shading and loose some of the detail because of it.
Regards,
Sandor :salute::

Here I am using the versatile K&C Desert Fort line set manned by Heritage British Infantry supported by a Heritage Naval Contingent protected by JG Miniature trench sections along with a Premier British General Service wagon/driver - an old Trophy soldier ( currently sourcing for a better driver ) and some additional JG Miniature props...and finally some Steasfast/Buldog Artillery pieces...Not using the new paint option...I deeply prefer the original paint scheme....
Cheers
