Today, after a delightful visit with the Lt. in Kittery, Maine and a tour of his Rorke's Drift Museum, I stopped at the only authorized Britains dealer in New Hampshire, a great little shop called The History Store, located just outside Portsmouth. I was instantly bowled over by the quality of current figures from Britains on display in the shop. Believe me when I say that the pictures in the catalogs and on the web do not do them justice. As a 1967 graduate of Bowdoin College I was thrilled to find the new figure of Joshua Chamberlain, who was a professor of rhetoric at Bowdoin both before and after the Civil War. Of course, every Bowdoin "polar bear" knows that not only was he the hero of Little Round top but that he also received the surrender sword of Robert E. Lee at Appomatox in 1865. I also picked up a figure of a charging Union Infantryman. Both of these were packaged in the new "clamshell-style" packaging which is terrific--easy to open, protective of the figure and easy to reseal and store. When I got home I decided that I just had to put these 2 great figures in a diorama against the backdrop of "Little Roundtop". Hope you enjoy these new additions to my collection. Randy

I find it amazing that no ones commented on the outstanding job that Polar Bear has done in presenting his newly acquired Britain figures earlier today. It's a shame that the example isn't followed my a number of fellow members when their goodie packages arrive from K & C. and others. Very nicely done Randy you've become a master at putting together photo dioramas and story lines of your collection of figures throughout the forum please keep them coming. By the way enjoyed the time we spent together and glad you enjoyed your first visit to the History Store.......The Lt.

Your post has stung me into belated action. I can only apologise for my tardiness. I am sorry I did not comment earlier. Once again Randy you have put together a wonderful little display. Thank you for your efforts along with your Chrsitams and Little Red Riding Hood scenes they are a wonder to behold and certainly enliven the forums.
Regards
Damian

I was late in logging onto the forum today, but this was my first stop. I must say Randy that your "quick dio" looks awesome. I agree with the Lt. I only wish I could set up my goodies like that once they arrive. My study is under construction right now, but when it is done, I hope to follow Randy's example.

Speaking of the History Store up there in NH, I have purchased some stuff from them on-line and I'm very impressed with all that they have, not just their soldiers. They have everything history. Between them and Treefrog, my Britains collection is what it is today. I hope to visit the place in person some day.

Great picture Randy!! Keep 'em coming.

Thank you Lt., Damian & Revolutionary War Buff. I was so fired up by the new figures that I just had to put them in a setting as soon as I got home.
The greatest thing about the internet is to be able to share our hobby. It's like this gigantic worldwide picture gallery.
REV--doing these dios is a snap--see the LT.'s posts on doing mini photo dios. All you need is some basic scenic supplies like Woodland Scenics, Build-A-Rama and JG Miniatures, a digital camera, a photo edit system like Photoshop Elements, a table to set things on and a light source and its all set.
The History Store is great. Bret the owner told me that they do most of their business online. The store is a wonderful collection of books, models, toy soldiers(Britains only) etc. I told Bret that he should join the forum and I hope he does. Here is the url for the online store.

Randy nice pic, looks like your getting the mini diorama bug these days!
Those back drops look nice and with a couple of small scenic pieces it all comes together.
That history store sounds like a nice place to pay a visit, where in N.H. is it located and how big is it?

Hey Lt , I just saw this. Randy keep up the good work. JC is one of my heros. It is beginning to look like the Civil War around here lately. I posted a mini dio just a few minutes ago.;)
