Over at another site there was a posting that mentioned that there will be an M7 105mm Howitzer Motor Carriage, the "Priest", coming this year from 21st Century. Reportedly targeted at a summer release, not much other info yet. The release photo shows it as a 1944 production type, but still a "Priest" in 1/32nd scale! Oh boy!

By the way, I know this sub-group is marked as "FoV" but I didn't see a "21C" area - it's been a while since they released much new 1/32nd scale stuff - especially for the Allies.

Great news Gary,

Where is the website showing the Priest?

21st Century & FOV, Rumors from Good sources within

:) Hello Again! My Sources from within the 21st Century is making an ELEPHANT -SDKFZ-184? Also, from FOV, NASHORN/HUMMEL -SDKFZ-164---CARL MORSER---possible WESPE, AND MARDER IIIM?

A "Karl" in 1/32? That would be impressive even for an Allied fan like me! They are getting braver and doing more open top SP guns, too. Those are always nice in a diorama or display because of all the detail that shows.

In my personal opinion, I would like to see 21st Century begin to put more work into making their vehicles look less "toy" like. I am interested in the new M7, but when you put 21st next to FOV, the difference is obvious to the most casual of observers. Just my opinion, for whatever it's worth. :) Michael

It seems to vary depending on the model, but yes, 21C has oversized hinges for their opening hatches etc and these mess up some of their vehicles, especially some of the early ones. They also leave large seams hanging open and that just doesn't look good on a tank turret. On the US tanks I have been able to fix some of them, but the 21C halftrack is a real pain to rebuild because of all the lumpy hinges showing.

When ever I hear some complaints about 21st vehicles I just think back to the days, not that long ago that the only vehicles we had to go with our 54mm figures were those toyish undersize Marx vehicles.
I,ll put up with oversize hinges to get a great looking vehicle for $15.

You have a very valid point. I do have 6 of their tanks and vehicles. They don't not work with the others like FOV or K&C, and the price is right (especially if I want to kitbash something). :) Michael

I love 21st for its toy like quality! Its cost is simply great as well. To tell ya the truth I dont see how FOV can even compete? I collect, but my stuff never sits on a shelf, my son, my nephues etc tear it up! FOV stuff seems to be more fragile? I still have over twenty of their pieces? Will continue to buy what I cant get from 21st!

I want toys not ceramic figurines? Whats that stuff called Yardrow? If you have practice with modeling 21st vehicles can be the equal of many. For super detail and accuracy I would build the 1:35th stuff? I think the best part about these is that they are toys!

With 21st in Walmart they are going to simply grow and grow, lots of new great things to come from them!:D

If you put a little work into those 21st Century vehicles they dont look half bad. The 1/18 stuff is very nice. I just bought some 1/18 Bulge soldiers today. I got the weathering chalks out right now, and I am going to work on them. Speaking about the M7 Priest, I just got a catalog from The National Motor Museum Mint, and they have a 1/32 Diecast Priest in there that looks good, but they don't say who makes it. It is $29.98, I don't think it is the 21st one. Alex

I read about it on another board? I have not seen the catalog? It would be nice to see another manufacture in 1:32 ?

I have no poly stone problems but when an eight year old decides to air drop your M7 its nice to know it can be replaced at wallyworld for $15.00! Or better yet glue it an repaint it!:)

Has anyone found the Priest from their friendly dealer of choice or at Walmart?

I'm driving by 2 walmarts on my way to the Oregon Coast this weekend and will be stopping to see what I can find, but was just wondering if they have been released.

As to the toylike quality, I take the time { when I have it} to thin out black airbrush paint just a bit, outline every angle, rivet, grabhandle , padeye etc. on the entire vehicle, let it dry and then weather /dust the vehicle lightly.
I also pull off the tracks and add some rust/then steel highlights.

Adds depth.Go from toy to diorama quality in about 90 minutes work.
I admit, I have too many sitting around that I haven't done this too- yet but I do like the results.I did the same thing to a Britians Sherman 76mm and it made a world of differance, at least I like it.

Just today info from another board I found the 21st Century priest on ebay as a pre sell with a Sept. 15 release. It should be at OTSN.
