Thanks to gk5717 I just found out about this group. Thanks Gary!

By background, I am a modeler and "researcher" (that is I read everyone else's books, but don't do any writing of my own) of US Army and Marine subjects, mostly WW2. I've been at this on-and-off since the late 60's. I first saw an ad for some toy soldiers by King and Country several years ago and thought the poses were very imaginative. I also appreciated seeing ads for GIs instead of millions more Germans. I finally saw the line in person at Toy Soldiers of Charleston. I bought a wrecked StuG III scene to go with some other figures, but I was hooked. I've slowly built up a small collection of GIs and vehicles. Still looking forward to more.

I'm glad that Tree Frog sponsored a board where the K&C addicts can find a support group. I look forward to learning from all of you and to helping where I can.

Gary B.

What kind of modeler. Tanks, planes or figures. I do 1/35 scale tanks which accidently led me to K&C.

Hey binder, nice to have you here and see this little community continue to grow.

Welcome Vic and binder.I had not seen binder posting on the other board for some time.Binder are you in the Carolina's?Anyways its good to have you.We need our other UK affiliate GreyCap to swing on over since he seems to get some early intel on K&C on his side of the pond.

As far as modeling, some 1/35th armor, but I have also dabbled in 1/72, 1/32nd, 1/18 and may try again at 1/48th with Tamiya's new Sherman in that scale. My subjects are US WW2 stuff, so I am more interested in subject than scale (unless I want the items together in a scene of course!). I get a real kick out of taking the 21C/FOV armor and "redetailing" it. I also build HO model trains (Union Pacific RR).

As far as location, I'm in eastern Nebraska. The Charleston reference was due to my visit there on a professional trip. Nebraska offers many things but a Toy Soldier shop is not one of them, so that trip was my first chance to see King and Country in person.

Hi I just found this site myself, nice to meet you.

Cool! I like redetailing 21c/FOV armor too. Here is the before and after I did on a troop carrier. Also with the tarp on.

Nice job Alex.MM Toys site seems a little hard to manouver through and I didn't see that road piece.Cost wise what does it run if you don't mind me asking? There is certainly some talented people on this board.Hats off to you guys..

It was very inexpensive. They are $10 each. They are made of plaster so they are fragile.

Brian, I bought 4 of those road sections from George at last years OTSN. He,s the only guy that I know who has them.
Alex great job on that 8 ton mover.
Gary

I'll be seeing George in a couple of weeks at Hasbrouck Heights so I'll pick up a few then for my shelves. Should have thought of him but thanks anyway.
