I quote from the adventures of Brigadeir Gerad. He was a fictional character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I really enjoyed reading the short stories about him. You should look him up and read the stories. I think you would like them. He said that about Waterloo. How all the galantry and elan of teh French came to nought against the stolid roast beef of ENgland. I alwyas liked that description
