Here are some guys I cast a long time ago I tried several times to paint in Clan Cian but it was too hard at the time. Decided to do the tartan as Irish National. They are really hard to do accurately in 54mm I will no doubt get better as I continue to make them. I will try to sell the figures in whatever tartan someone wishes.

Those are pretty neat KV. The tartan looks amazing.

Thanks BF. You know what I really liked? It was doing the cheetah skin on the Bass Drummer. The tartans are going to take more work. Two of them turned out well. Unfortunately they are all somewhat different. Practise you know.

Forgot to mention that KV. You did a great job on that also.

Tartans are a pain to paint but these look fine to me, makes a nice change to see something different from the usual Goverment pattern.

Yo Troopers, if the Surgeon General says Tartans are a pain to paint, and KV says they are hard. Well and not trying to boost sales here:rolleyes: lol. Have a look at the Classified "Britains Sets For Sale". When I said they were a stunning set I wasn't joking. Hard to beat this set for a Pipe Band, let me know if you think different;).
Bernard.

I had thought of making different Pipe Bands for people on consignment.

Jeff

Nice work. Is that the clan vampire tartan?:D
This is an approximation of the Irish National tartan.

They are a pain but worth the effort. There will be more. Clan Cian perhaps.

Hi KV I agree tartans are apain but youve done a fantastic job on these, funny you said you enjoyed painting the cheetah skin, I have to say I also enjoy doing the animal skins. At present Im trying to finish off an RAF pipe band, but it slow. Ill post when finished, until then keep em coming KV.

Regards John

Would like to see your band when you are done. I have a set of molds that will let me make all kinds of bands and obviously a Pipe Band mold set as well.

Nice job KV!
These tartans have brighter colours than the usual ones seen and give more life to the figures.
You have the molds, does that means we'll soon see this band with a few more dozens pipers and drummers ?
Cheers,
Michel

Thank you Michel that is most kind of you. Do you think I should? That would be kind of cool. I do need to practise this one though. I have this kilt or did. I do need to find the molds though.:(
