A member of a Highland Independent Company keeps "watch" in the Scottish Highlands in the years leading up to the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745. The famous 42nd Highland Division or "Black Watch" began as one of these independent companies. Among this private's weapons is the claymore or broadsword.
