Although this is regular catalog set 1273 22e ROYAL "VAN DOOS" REGIMENT, CANADA, this is the first time that I have actually seen it. The regiment consists exclusively of soldiers of French origin and is popularly known as the "Van Doos" which is a distortion of the French word "vingt-deux." It is also known as the "Beaver" regiment due to the beaver depicted in their regimental badge.
