I thought you might like to see a series of photos I took at this weekend's West Coaster Show. Since I am really tired, and don't have time to organize the photos in any systematic way, I will just post them as I took them. I think I have to report for jury duty tomorrow, in anycase. The photos will include not only Hiriart but toy soldiers from other manufacturers. Views from my hotel balcony Soldiers of the World 1st SWiss Regiment. Various Frontline Figures Neuchatel, Saxon, and Nassau Napoleonics..

Thanks for posting the pictures, Mike. As usual, a wonderful array of Hiriart gloss. I still love those WW1 French sets, all of them.:wink2:^&grin -- Al

All told, I sold 31 sets of toy soldiers at the Show including seven Hiriart sets. The 31 various sets ranged in price from $60 to $200. By comparison, I sold 25 sets in 2011, 28 sets in 2010, and 50 sets in 2009. Room trading traffic seemed to be up from last few years. I don't know the final exact paid attendance, but at one point it had reached 470. All the dealer tables were sold on Sunday and numbered about 200.

Andy Nielson of King & Country bought one of the Hiriart sets shown in a previous post which was of the same unit, but different catalog number, of another Hiriart set he bought a couple of years ago. I bet you can't guess which one it was. He must like the......... but has never made this unit for K&C. There is one more set representing this unit in the Hiriart catalog, which he hasn't seen, where they wearing winter uniforms.

Here are some photos from the Show on Sunday. The first is the view from my tables with Steven Chong's back as he looks at a military book dealer (I bought one of his books on 1914 French army uniforms). The second photo is of my two tables. This a new location for me. I had been at another location for years, but Woody asked if I could move to accomodate another dealer who wanted to have eight tables. I actually like the new corner arrangement better. The other photos are of Hiriart sets on display.

The last two photos including one of Gerard Prime of Frontline Figures who I have known for at least 12 years. Frontline has the three tables next to mine and, not really visible, the next three tables are Mike Hall's from Sierra Toy Soldiers. The Hirart sets include a non-catalog set of the Escuela Politechnica Guatemalan band.

Thank you Al, I am glad you liked them. Also thank you for your purchase; I hope you are enjoying your new Hiriart Italian Alpini mountain artillery set. I can hardly wait.

Great pictures Mike, looks like you're a veteran of the show circuit as your displays are very well done ..... hey, you even found a good spot for NMAs Larry Leisure Suit. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Thanks Buster I am glad you liked them. I have sold at the West Coaster for about a dozen years now. Thanks also for the compliment on the looks of my display. Over the years, I have been surprised about how many collectors have made positive comments about them. However, all I am doing is opening the boxes and arranging them neatly, by manufacturer, rather than in a random, scattergun fashion. It's not rocket science. Your comment about NMA went completely over my head.

Thanks Mike for your show report and pics of Hiriart sets. Looks like a fun show with nice weather.

The comment "leisure suit Larry" came from NMRocks when the figure came out with the vehicle. Everyone thought that was a funny character in the set. J

Thanks for bailing me out John, when someone has to explain a joke I guess it wasn't very funny.:rolleyes2:^&grin I'll go back down in basement now.

Please don't feel bad, Buster. It isn't you, it's me. I have never watched NMrocks in my life. It must be a generational thing. Come out of the basement.

Thanks Jeff, yes, I did have a very good time. I had lunch with Bob Walker and Bill Hocker on Saturday, boring them to death about my experiences while serving in the Army Security Agency during the Cold War. I also got to chat with Peter of Figarti, and then, James, Rick's father, on Sunday. Also, Brian of Collectors Showcase, Gerard and Martin of Frontline, Ray Haradin of Old Toy Soldier Auctions, and briefly with Andy and Gordon of K&C. Forum members Marc, Joe, Denver, Steven, Carlos, and showman. Collectors Ed Ruby and Bill Connolly. Actually, it is by far the best part of the Show which is why I like the extra days we have for this during the pre-Show room trading.
