This is Hiriart's Set 1218 BATALLON DE INFANTERIA NUMERO 1 "FLORIDA," URUGUARY which dates back to 1826. This unit has taken part in all of Uruguay's wars and had a fighting reputation that Garibaldi was impressed with. Their tall shakos have a sun badge (the national emblem) and a cornet with the number "1" which stands for the 1st Infantry Regiment. Their yellow cords and tassels are worn to recall the victory against the Brazilians in the 1827 Battle of Ituzaingo. I am ordering this colorful set next year.

Hiriart has also made a non-catalog band version of this set. Bob Walker ordered it several years ago and it is very colorful when you see it in person.
