Last year, I commissioned two different sets of Balkan War Infantry. Ultimately, by 2016, I will have sets from all six of the combatants involved. The first sets from this series are being shipped this week from Montevideo. The first, now added to the regular Hiriart catalog, is No. 1364 BULGARIAN INFANTRY, BALKAN WAR, 1912. I sent Hiriart color plates from the Osprey Men-at-Arms 361 "Armies of the Balkan Wars" plus from two other sources as references. I really like how the flag turned out and their sheepskin leggings. I am considering also ordering Bulgarians representing one of the elite patron regiments which were named for different members of the royal family. These regiments wore green uniforms with black boots; they also had colored shoulder boards, hat bands, and piping that differed for each regiment. For example, the elite regiment Clementine had light blue.

That is a nice looking set. It is also good to see that the Balkan War of 1912 has not been entirely forgotten. Lot of variety from that war. -- Al

Thanks Al, I am glad that you like it, too. I suspect that pre-war Britains may have done sets from the Balkan War, but I am not sure about that. I can't think of anyone else who may have also done so.

The Bulgarians finally arrived yesterday from Uruguay. Here are some photos I took today of the set. This has to be some of Guillermo's best work. N.B. The Bulgarians were known as the Balkan Prussians.

I just noticed that the officer flag bearer is wearing a tobacco brown colored uniform like the troops, but he should be wearing the green colored uniform like the other officer is wearing. I'll let Guillermo know so that he can correct it going forward.
